Social and Environmental Responsibility

Ladles was founded on the premise that businesses share a responsibility in the community they serve. We are strongly committed to addressing social issues such as food insecurity and affordable housing, and donate 10% of our profits to local non-profits, such as Sisters of the Road and p:ear. These organizations confront the problem of homelessness by encouraging individual empowerment, promoting a sense of personal dignity and strengthening community relationships where strong ties are lacking. We strongly believe that all people should have access to nutritious food and strive to see this belief come to fruition. Establishing Ladles as a profitable business is our first step towards empowering others.

In addition to social responsibility, we believe businesses have an equal responsibility to bettering the environment. For this reason, Ladles is committed to using reusable mason jars for wholesale distribution and consumer sales. We use locally grown product whenever possible and prepare a variety of seasonal soups, stews and chilies as produce availability changes throughout the year. Due to the highly involved process of organic certification, many small farms stumble through the costly steps or are unable to afford certification entirely, despite their strict adherence to organic principles. We are proud to encourage and support the aspiring local farmer that complies with certifiable organic practices.
